How can I make it so that the edit form saves the current values for all fields?

I have a Heirarchy view setup with editable rows, everything works fine until you go to edit a row. I have Columns for Manufacturer and Model, so for example I click edit on a row containing a manufacturer of Pakedge and a Model of RK-1. When the edit form comes up those values default to the first ones in my dropdown list, Asus/AC3100.
How can I make it so that the edit form saves the current values for all fields? Before: After hitting Edit:
